Some of the most prominent manufacturers – including LG, Sony and Samsung – all revealed 85- to 88-inch televisions that could reach the market later this year.
While those newest TVs indeed are massive in size and could comfortably fit in a home theater environment, they paled in comparison to Samsung’s 146-inch behemoth: “The Wall.”
What makes “The Wall” so special? It’s not just that it’s a TV more than 12 feet wide, but it also uses new MicroLED technology that’s self-emitting – meaning it’s modular and that you can customize it to your viewing preferences.
One other trend we found notable: Several TVs that manufacturers released at CES 2018 provided 8K resolution – with four times more pixels than 4K images.
While there isn’t much 8K content on the market right now, it’s something worth keeping an eye on as the year progresses.

The technology within soundbars continually is improving, and that unquestionably was evident at CES 2018.
Consider Sony’s newest soundbar, the premium HT-ZF9.
The HT-ZF9 not only is the world’s first 3.1 Dolby Atmos soundbar, but it also can pair with the manufacturer’s SA-Z9R rear speakers to produce an actual surround-sound configuration.
